The 1937 Bruinvisch, after a lavish existence, has been back in her home port of Maassluis since 2005. Volunteers have been busy getting the old Blazer model back to be what she once was: a sturdy little vessel with the trademark salvage rigging. The 24-metre vessel, equipped with a 120-horsepower industrial engine, proved to be very versatile and successful. Her impressive career under the Dutch flag includes extensive wreck removal operations in the Nieuwe Waterweg after May 1945 and the famous 1957 UN salvage operations in the Suez Canal.
