The Furie is the last steam-powered sea tug in the Netherlands.

Launched in 1916 at a yard in the Province of Groningen, she served as a tug for the paper industry in Sweden until well into the 1970s. She was then purchased for a role in the legendary television series "Hollands Glorie", based on the book of the same name by Jan de Hartog. In 1978, the Furie was bought by the Stichting Hollands Glorie, the foundation in Maassluis that promotes Hollands Glorie, and since then, she has been sailing under the Dutch flag again.

The aim of Stichting Hollands Glorie is to maintain the "Furie" in good working order so she can sail, to open her up for visits and to restore her to her original state as much as possible.
